Another thing that needs to start being done with any race that is scored under the ORR ez rating is the wind rating that is observed and will be used for scoring calculations should be posted prior to the start of the race, whether that be before preparatory or the starting gun I'll leave that up to whoever proposes it.
From my understanding of the rules, and how the rating system works, in my opinion it feels like there is a massive loophole that can be used during the scoring calculations to benefit a certain org or team or whoever due to how there is no way to protest the wind rating, and at times, how subjective it feels. The fact that a RC can observe at the start of a race one rating and then say that they don't feel that was the true rating and change it with no warning to the regatta participants is shady, especially when there is no way electronic monitoring to prove their reasoning.
To clarify, I am not saying this has been done in the past, and I am not trying to say that anyone has ruined the integrity of the sport, but it's a loophole that needs to be patched before a bad eggs ruin the integrity of our sport.
