Excellent description! In the last 7 years i have turned mine over only twice. Right after i bought the boat. We jibbed through too big of an angle and rolled it over in about 25-30 kts with the spinnaker up. Even then, it just rolled gently over. After sailing it for a while, I could have saved even that. The other time, we hit something in the water that caused the breakaway cleat on the cb to release and allow the centerboard to fold up and the boat to roll over, not much to do about that. Upwind it needs at least 10kt to do well. Even so, it is a lot of fun to sail and the prices anr coming down. Would the clubs here ever consider runninng open class racing with a Portsmouth handicap for all the diverse small boats? You could just sail the same course on Wednesday night or almost any race and add one more start. The handicaps even have wind dependent adjustments written right in.
