1986 J/30 "Mercury" #539 is reluctantly for sale. One of the last few J/30's built, she has white hull and deck, red cove stripe and the sought after updated cockpit and galley layout. The boat was one owner, sailed exclusively in fresh water near Rochester until I purchased her in the winter of 2003. She had been in dry storage for several years, had obviously been used very, very little and other than being a bit dirty was in exceptional condition inside and out. (I kind of felt like I had found a old Ferrari in a barn.)
I had planned to keep the boat for many years, so I moved her to Newport and in the spring of 2004 set about to put her in like new condition. Below is a partial list of what has been done to the boat. She is now in exceptional condition. Unfortunately a change in personal circumstances forces her sale. $37,500.
