I know Rolex and Citizen deserve attention for their support of the sport, but I don't own a Volvo either. I did break down and buy a Stars & Stripes Citizen in San Diego, but it now lies next to all my other expensive watches that last a year or two and die (oh, I do know how to change a battery). I like the idea of a waterproof timex for the super economical. I'm using a cheap Freestyle dive watch right now whcih has been robust. But if you want a real sailing watch and are even thinking of a Rolex, check out the Suunto watches. $500 gets you everything you ever wanted in a watch including GPS and compass in a 3.6 oz package that is good down to 100M. Anyone out there ever tried one of these? If they have longevity, might be worth a look.
