Just spoke with Bish - he's at his 'rents place on North Second St. in the Bay right by the Club. He tells me that the water is coming up fast, and the waves are breaking on the street on North Beach...the entire beach itself is under water, including the Eagan pier, which is likely gone already. The water is over the grounds at BWYC and there are a couple of boats left in the marina, which will either beat up the pier and sink, or break loose and be pushed towards the beach front homes. On N. Second St. at the dip by Ricky Eagan's house, the water level in the street is chest high.
Bish rescued several sunfish and tried to put them on high ground, but as the water comes up more they will likely be lost.
Water is over Henderson Point, and likely in the low-lying homes of Pass Christian Isles.
All r safe, and are moving cars to higher ground in case they have to leave in an emergency. I also believe they have several boats in the yard should they need them.
Latest forecast is for the eye to miss the city and pass between slidell and the bay...
more updates when Bish calls again.
