The interview I saw with the Comm of ACoE, along with new video, showed two things. First, there is great deal of debris packed into that bridge, doing basically what you were suggesting. Second is that the lake in now down sufficiently that the water is flowing back out of the city into the 17th street canal. He said that the plan now was to let that continue to happen, as well as to possibly implement the existing plan to blow targeted levees to speed the drainage as other levels drop.
