Obviously, we can and do give to the Red Cross. Beyond that, many of us at Corpus Christi Yacht Club are wondering how to help those who will be out of their homes and without their belongings for a long time. I would like to hear from those of you who are displaced.

Are your friends/family safety nets enough? Are there those without such networks who need a place to go? What are your pressing needs now (clothing, supplies)? What can we think about setting up now that will help you in terms of the next month or two? What can we organize for displaced kids to do, with regards to schooling and activities? Is there a central command or website set up to deal with these questions already?

I guess we all feel the need to help, but don't know exactly how.
