Here is where we stand in
support of our friends whose families need our help.Dave Zahn is on his way
to Batton Rouge,we have organised a place just north of Sidel where we can
assist people from.We have opened a bank account-Bank of Newport/acc
name-FRIENDS OF GULF COAST SAILORS.Acc # 211574642-008 58547.Starting
tonight friday the 2nd 2005,there will be collection boxes at the
International Yacht & Athletic Club and Cafe Zeldas on Thames st in
Newport.Checks can also be sent to the IYAC,536 Thames st,Newport RI 02840
with the above acc name.The object of all this is to assist the families of
people we work and race with,they need our help over the comming weeks.If
you have friends in the sailing comunity who have family in this region
please let me know and we will do our best to assist.We will be fundraising
over the next 2 weeks and plan to head south after the Newport boat
show,your assistance in getting the word out via email to your friends would
be appreciated.At present we have in excess of 150 people on our help list
,I expect this # to grow so your help is needed.Everything donated will go
directaly to the families of our sailing friends on items they request and
