we're here safe and sound with the girls, the dog, the hampster and 3 days worth of clothes each, enjoying the hospitality of one of my best friends from college in the Woodlands (North Houston)

Upside is that it looks like the Metairie house and the new powerboat did amazingly well, on the downside the Pass house and all the sailboats are total losses (Irwin 30, Lightning, Sunfish & 2 Optis, plus Pam's new kayak). This is the first time in 35 years I haven't owned a sailboat.

Compared to the loss and suffering of others, we are lucky and count our blessings. I refuse to buy f'in cowboy boots and I'm making sure the girls don't pick up a twang, cuz we're going to be back.
