Java Boy's Post at Sailing Anarchy

Ok, as a resident, or former resident, of New Orleans I wantet to make a few observations. The lawlessness that has been going on is just unbelieveable! I simply don't understand how this kind of thing could happen - it's like I am watching coverage from Iraq! Where are the troops? National Guard?? This is unbelieveable. It is a simple fact that the people left behind are the poor and ignorant. They are black. Most had the opportunity to get out, but chose not to. Now, those fucking idiots are the ones who are looting stores, homes, hospitals, and businesses! They are SHOOTING AT THE PEOPLE TRYING TO HELP THEM! How ignorant can you be??????? FINALLY, the order has been given to SHOOT TO KILL, but it's too little too late. I learned yesterday that our home survived the storm with no flooding, and no visable signs of damage, however, who knows if these ANIMALS have made it out to the outer suburbs of the city to start looting, burning, and pillaging there. It just makes me furious. The only good thing is that the Sheriff of our parish, Jefferson, gave the order several days ago to shoot to kill - no questions asked. I can only hope to god that they are following through. Don't even think you know what this has been like unless you can put yourself in my shoes, or in the shoes of ANY resident of New Orleans. This is not the country that I know - I am outraged and ashamed.
After all of this is said and done, you will see a mass exodus from New Orleans as people are able to return and learn they have nothing left. Every home that has been flooded to the roof is a total loss, and that is probably at least 75% of the city. Those people are not going to rebuild their lives there...why would you. There will be no commerce, no quality of life. I personally don't ever plan to call New Orleans my home again - it will never be the same. On the other hand, Charleston SC is awesome!

Frustrating
Are at your family/summer home in......Charleston?
