The GYA PHRF BODY has issued rating relief to all racers effected by Hurricanes Dennis, Katrina and Rita. All Sailors with Zip Codes in the effected areas will immediately recieve 6 seconds added to their current PHRF rating. Those owners that can show proof that their boat actually sustained more than $5,000. damage below the water line can apply for an additional 3 seconds. Any Hurricane victim seeking more relief than a total of 9 seconds will need to be inspected by a FEMA PHRF rating relief specialist.

"We are really excited about this releif" The Generosity of the local PHRF board goes way beyond what FEMA, Salvation Army and the Red Cross could offer us yachting folks". "We are howeever waiting for US Sailing to validate this releif by requiring Key West Race Week to use in early 2006". Most other sailors were equally grateful.
