Now for my regular report. As we have forced to hear from Bad Dog about the finn fleet until we are sick to death, I decided I just had to come sail a finn. While the barking beagle was kind enough to loan me a boat, he forgot to mention that it had not been cleaned since the hurricane. I have never seen anything so nasty in my life !! After cleaning it, I had to go get a tetanus shot, burn my clothes and get the fire dept to hose me down.
After the perverted puppy and the finn dudes all helped rig my boat (thanks guys), we finally got to go racing. Oh wait, first we got to go drifting and THEN we got to go racing. While the wind was light, Guy Brierre and his minions did an excellent job and we got two good races in along with a third race which had to be shortened (good decision RC).
It was awesome to sail the finn. Even in the light stuff, you still have enough sail to be able to sit on the high side in complete comfort. While I was ready to do some hiking, it was nice just to do some sitting. The finn sailor from Fairhope was kind enough to give me a few pointers, the demented dachund gave me a couple of barks and the red dragon gave me a couple of kind words. Thanks finn fleet for a great time !!
