Don't know how this went unnoticed but John Dane, sailing with his son as crew, won the 2006 Star Class Masters sailed in Miami February 11th.
Congratulations to the Dane family.

Did I see this correctly that our old friend Tom Dabney finished 11th sailing with Bill Culberson? If so that is a great finish and deserves a pat on the back. It's been awhile since Tom sailed Stars.

Another guy from our district sailed and had a nice finish. Matt Patterson from Dallas sailed with Arthur Asonov from St.Pete. They had a 10th in the first race, then wound up with an OCS and finished 28th overall. Matt has sailed Stars with us for a couple of years now and has been a big mover and shaker in getting Houston up and going again. Great to see him do well.
