I have just returned from NOYC's dry storage and will give an update regarding the hoist recovery project:
Shawn O'Daniels and River Marine have provided a three phase 150KW generator to supply power to the club and hoists.
BADDOG and friends replaced the electrical outlets on the East hoist.
Mike and Scott Tonguis will be repairing the East hoist in the near future. It will be completely removed to be dipped.
While being dipped, Rick Owen and friends will be pouring a new base to match the design of the West hoist.
Katie picked up electrical supplies and parts today to complete the wiring off both hoists.
Ryan Bancroft, Gilbert and father wired the West hoist tonight. There are some minor things we need to do tomorrow to tap into the diesel generator.
We need three things to get the West hoist working tomorrow:
(1) a 55 gallon drum of diesel
(2) tap the diesel generator to provide the correct line voltage and amperage.
(3) A 12 volt battery to start the generator.
(4) A boat like Mike Howell's Manana to reverse engines at the point of the West hoist to improve the debth by removing sand and silt. Currently the debth is about 4 feet.
I would also like some assistance in relocating the floating dock to its original position.
Let's get everyone listed in BOLD a hand and pat on the back. We're making some huge progress.
Let's go sailing.
