We made a decision to continue race #4 at this past weekend's Capedieville Series after postponing twice for over an hour.
The wind shifted from 90 degress to 20 degrees within the period of starting the race and the winward mark on the first leg. The time limit was approaching and we had a difficult decision to make. Continue the race, call a Charlie toward 20 degrees at the leward mark or postpone and settle on 4 races total.
You make the call. Did the RC make a bad decision not to cancel or did the sailors benefit from having more time on the water.
Does this compare to the RC who started a previous Capdevielle race on a downwind leg?
Feedback both positive and negative is encouraged. Don't hold back.
