Thanks for the feedback. It is important to discuss, learn and adjust.

I would say the RC made two critical mistakes:

(1) We should have cancelled and restarted race #4 and settled on 4 Capdevielle races for the reasons you stated. However, in doing this we probably would have received complaints about "let's go racing". There was a slow J/22 in the box, until right before the "P" flag dropped, but we could see the wind filling in...

(2) We didn't catch Fairhope's Flying Scot leave the race course to pick up crew for race #2. We started the race before discovering the issue. The Capdevielle rules state that we must provide enough time to allow crew changes. Our goal was to get people on shore via scat boats as announced at the skipper's meeting. The demand was higher than expected, so next year's we'll get more scats boats to meet the demand. The whole problem is related to communication. We need to develop a way to communicate the need for crew changes to the RC. As of now, the entire responsibility to support the crew change rule is placed on the RC. We'll perform a count of each Scot before starting a race.

It was nice to see the sailors from Birmingham, Jackson and Shreveport.
