SYC will be hosting the inaugural Southern Nichols Cup which is a 3 on 3 Team Racing event to be held in Flying Scots on the weekend of Mar 17-18, 2007. SYC has been involved in several events over the past several years and New York Yacht Club has donated a trophy (Nichols Cup)which will be dedicated to this team racing event at SYC. A formal NOR has been sent to all GYA Clubs seeking participation so please ask around your club for the NOR and entry or I'll provide one to you. I'll even try to get it on our website if I can figure out how to do that. We expect this to be a high level team racing event and hope to draw some hotshots from the sport to participate.We have invited those that have hosted SYC at their events and they will have first shot, but I'm sure we can also accomodate some GYA teams so please let me know of your interest ASAP. Although the entry fee is $1000 per team of 9, there will be breakfast, lunch and a banquet dinner on Sat and breakfast and lunch on Sun, with beer at the debriefing after each days racing and nice trophies and momentoes for all participants. It promises to be a first class event.
