I apologize for the insensitive post. Holly, I've sent you an email explaining both the post and the purpose of the thread.
My suggestion that Jackpot is a "cheater boat" was purely tongue-in-cheek. I am very well aware that that is not the case.
Shortly after Jackpot was put on the market, I took a close look at the boat. She's in great shape. In addition to having almost no storm damage, Jackpot has a Brennan bottom, new standing rigging, a new Yanmar, mostly new running rigging and a great sail inventory. It is unquestionably a very nice - and very competitive - J30.
However, it is certainly not a cheater boat. The cabin is clean with a full compliment of cushions, abundant and well maintained woodwork, and a teak and holly veneered cabin floor.
It will make an equally competent cruiser.
This thread went off course when it was suggested the boat be checked for class compliance due to recent modifications to complement short-handed sailing and easy cruising.
That suggestion was misinterpreted and, predictably, someone said cheater boat. I regret that this thread degenerated to the point that it did. However, I've re-read the entire thread and I do not believe that anyone meant anything that was spiteful or malicious.
I've heard it said that sarcasm is the sincerest form of discourse for the emotionally fragile. If you look at it that way, this thread is full of well-camouflaged compliments.
And Jackpot should be complemented - as should her former owners.
Again, I apologize.
