The NOR states in section 3. Classes, in the second sentence of the second paragraph, "Class breaks will be posted on the notice board before the start of a series and may not be changed during a series." The reason for changing the class breaks is because there was one boat in Spin C, and the classes were generally not evenly split. I wanted to encourage a more even split, and I'm likely going to modify the classes between each series based upon the actual participation.

I didn't consult with anyone else on the class breaks; I used the Series 1 results to divide the Spinnaker fleet of boats that registered into 3 equally sized classes and to divide the Nonspin fleet into 2 equally sized classes. I am open-minded to modifying the class breaks between now and the first race of Series 2, and I am also open-minded to changing them again before each series this year. I am not open-minded to sailing the entire 2022 season with classes with only one or two regular racers, with the exception of the Unleaded class. I'm committed to building the Unleaded class, and I will run that class in every regatta I can to encourage its growth. There are enough new multihulls in the harbor that I believe we can grow the fleet if we make a gathering place for them.

I think when you look at the results for the first series, which will still have a makeup race on May 25th, you'll see that the breaks needed some adjustment. As I said, I'm open to other suggestions. I considered just dropping the Spin C class, for example, but as summer approaches, I expect some more higher-rated boats may come back out to play.
