However when you look at your time on distance (TOD) numbers on your ORREz certificate, the ratings are in actual seconds per mile. For example 620 seconds for your boat to sail one mile. Your have to adjust or "PHRFerize" that number to the BASE boat which is a J105. Therefore, the number you get is the difference between J105 rating and your boat's rating. This iadjustment is exact same thing that PHRF does. If your PHRF rating is 120, this does not mean that your boat sails a mile in 120 seconds. That rating is adjusted under PHRF to a fictional boat rated zero. Thus, this makes ORA1 ratings look like PHRF ratings. .
