The orr ez rating system is not super transparent. Racers can not do an easy calculation to determine their place like they could in PHRF. Challenge cup needs a very transparent system not one which has computer generated performance curves that no one has access to. The new PHRF system would be a ok first foot in the door to a new system since it is still TOD and limited wind ranges and courses. If they could make an app on the phone where the racers could take their own times and input it into the app to see where they lie on the curve vs other boats.
