It will also give others a chance to win since J/80s have dominated the class. And the big win based on who is registered right now is that the class are balanced. 4 boats in each. Based on series 4 you would get 6 or 7 boats in A class and 6 or 7 in B. And then 7 J80s. All balanced. It just doesnt make sense not to. And to your question. IMHO Weight is not a valid class break tool. It only uses one parameter of many that are used to calculate ratings. ORR-EZ is the best tool for differentiating performance although it comes with a price of 8 different ratings based on wind and course. Too complicated for Wednesday Night Racing. Why not just form a club PHRF committee to handle ratings for Wednesday only. GYA is no longer supporting and IMHO ORA1 is a no go.
