-real deal real owner driver rule for all OD races, is that in J80 Class rules already
Read the rules again. there is not a owner driver rule.
-since this local class is more geriatric than admitted. No legs over hiking. Only legs in cockpit and behind doghouse. Only go in front of cockpit for crew work, tacks, hoists etc. Boats have a huge cockpit, use it. No legs over hiking.
if you can get from side to side you can swing your legs out
-dry sail penalty. It's easier to keep boats in water. any dry sail boat has to do a 360 penalty after start and before finish
as long as you keep your bottom clean there really is not a difference. During worlds boats with bottom paint were winning races and finishing in the top. Keeping the boat in the water is more expensive and if you want the ease of day sailing that leaving it in the water provides then wake up a little early and clean your bottom.
-sail purchases only once every three years. start new sail cycle effective 1-1-25 to get everyone on same plane
This is just dumb. Why slow the fleet down on purpose? are we not expecting to take any of the boats and do national events? If Nationals come to NOLA then all the NOLA boats will not be competitive due to the older sails.
We are dumbing down a fleet that has a strong national class and most boats have capable sailors to sail in that national class. Sail to class rules do not try to slow down the fleet.
