Just lies and more rumors from last night meeting

- few boat house owners are running the show and are being given the largest voice for West End and they have a puppet leading the charge
-No residential on city controlled property. Not sure about hotels or live aboards on city controlled property
-State law supercedes city law. Levee board allowed new townhomes in front of Sailboat bay and will allow for more townhomes possibly between levee and Sintes if they can get control of all of the leases. Levee board after revenue and is not controlled by a few boat house owners..Levee board actually making West End nicer and is 15 years ahead of city of NOLA....example Felix's, Jbs, Blue Crab, new town homes in front of sailboat bay and much more.
-Westend west site near pump station is having zoning changed for NO residential No residential No residential per the request of mainly boat house owners. The park NO RESIDENTIAL and the boat ramp park NO residential.
-City maybe using-guiding MYH money to pay consultant for site feasability study. The consultant will likely reccomend a mixed -use complex that includes residential (hotel and condos)...as that is what they are doing everywhere else in the country for progress that makes sense. They are already planning to re-zone NO RESIDENTIAL and make things locked up so consultant can not afford the best choices for the area.
-Some boat owners actually want 8 to 10 covered shaded pickle ball quarts where the abandoned fenced parking lot is. They actually want pickleball quarts instead of volleyball. I kid you not. They are masking it under the "recreational activities for the mature".
- They want the West Westend redeveloped just like it was pre-Katrina. A few crappy restaurants and a booty popping bar all under 65 feet in height.
-Bad news is the West Westend area needs over 5-7 million dollars in civil common area infrastructure constructionwork which includes but is not limited to fill, new drainage, new utilities, new sewer-water, pilings, asphalt, concrete and bulk heads. This will not be economically feasible for just a few restaurants and recreational facilties for the mature.
