Hi all,

I recently moved back to New Orleans and am looking for a way to start getting on the water more regularly and gain some sailing experience. Looks like any classes offered don’t start til springtime and I’d rather not wait. If anyone here could point me in the right direction your help would be very much appreciated.

I’ve been out on my buddy’s sailboat 4 or 5 times in the past couple years and understand some of the very basics but haven’t had much of an opportunity to apply them myself. If you happen to be reading this and thinking “hey, I could use a deckhand this weekend” (if that’s what you call it), by all means holler. I’m 27, work physical remodel and repair jobs, and am generally a quick learner. Spent my whole childhood listening to my father rant about boat engines he worked on in the CG. I’d be happy to swap refinishing work or help with repairs to learn the ins and outs of your boat and gain some sailing experience.
