Dave, For the record there is a wooden boat museum in Lockport. It's jewel is a masted oyster lugger rebuilt from the 1830s (I believe) schematics. Troy Gilbert and I started researching for a documentary for TV a history of sailing along the Gulf Coast and especially Louisiana. I've wanted to do a companion piece on boats and workboats of Louisiana too, as I'm fascinated by them from a creative improvisation standpoint! Take good pictures! Maybe someday I'll get to do those projects.

Better yet, how about a lakefront museum at West End Park???
