A quick summary of answers to questions:
Q1 Consider posting a copy that shows the revisions made to each document, so people understand what changes are being made.
A 1 The NOR and BOTY documents are basically the same. The NOR was updated to reflect the new US Sailing RRS 2025-2028 rules released on 1/1/2025. The only BOTY rule that changed was an allowance to use the Challenge Cup score in replacement of your lowest score. SIs were completely revamped to align with the new GYA Template released earlier this month. Both NOR and SIs announce the score systems as Legacy PHRF until the end of June with eZ certificate required starting July 1, 2025. We will use the PHRF Benchmark rating on the eZ Certificate. As such we will continue to score using Clubspot as last year. The biggest challenge will be to encourage all Wednesday night sailors to get an eZ certificate by July 1st. You are welcome to access the Official Notice board of a 2024 regatta to access last year's regatta documents. I will post a link in this thread for convenience.
Q2 - Consider removing all of the register at the bar or by phone references from the NOR and SIs, that's a total pain for the bar staff and RC to deal with.
A 2 - For those who are technically challenged, we wanted to leave an option to register at the bar. Clubspot isn't the easiest of software to use. Bar registrations last year were not significant. This is the same rule as last year.
Q3 In the SIs, consider a clarification of Appendix A, article 1. The title is "Wednesday Night Course" and then J-H-A and J-B-A courses are referenced. The title is misleading, is this clarification only used on Wednesday nights, or is it anytime either course is displayed. I believe the intent is anytime the course is displayed, and if so Wednesday Night Course should be removed from the title.
A3 Appendix SI-A has not changed from last year. We will review per your recommendation.
Q4-Any changes to BOTY? Looks like Mardi Gras Regatta has been broken out into OD and HC.
A4 - The only BOTY rule that changed was an allowance to use the Challenge Cup series score (if raced) in replacement of your lowest score. A choice of highest score if you race Mardi Gras OD and PHRF was in the rules last year. Only a couple of J/80s used this rule in 2024.
We will follow up. Appreciate the review and feedback.
