Hard to argue with results, the Tripp would be faster than the Etchells but got bumped out of C class and would not b competitive with the Melges 24 in B. Class. Could have raced with the non-overlapping jib but the thought was the breeze would be too light.

I do think if it is an “Offshore” regatta that it should comply with the Pensacola restrictions. We used to require self-bailing cockpits, lifelines and bow pulpits when we sailed under PHRF. Apparently, you no longer need auxiliary propulsion. That is just stupid and perhaps dangerous. Next year we could send a Melges 15 for our D boat. Nothing in the rules against it!
