Nice turn out this year. Race was delayed an hour for breeze. Wind filled from WSW. Boats that went left after the start came out well. 5-9 knots upwind to the GP sea buoy. Close hauled heading at 90 degrees. Wind backed right slowly after 7 pm. Deciding when to put up a kite or zero was key. Too early and you ended up north of layline. Sailing extra distance is risky. After the Mobile sea buoy we saw wind from every direction from 0-20 knots but mostly 5-9 knots. It rained twice. Tmax of what felt like 100+ degrees. We did 12 sail changes between Mobile and Pcola. Love sailing and the sense of adventure.
